Merrier helps you to overcome anxiety, depression or any negative feelings by turning them into a game. Applying the addictive elements of a game (such as quests and trophies), it gives you motivation and reason to continue your journey to recovery.
Merrier was created with the goal of overcoming anxieties. It can be used to beat anxiety, depression, or any form of stress. However, it is not a substitute for professional help.
Merrier is different because:
Quests are challenges that you set yourself to overcome. They are like the stepping stones to the wider goal of confidence. An example would be giving a presentation.
There is no time limit – take as long as you need. However, we recommend doing small challenges that you can complete in a day.
On your Quest Map, tap the plus icon. Enter a title and short description, and your initial confidence on the task. Done!
On your Quest Map, tap the clock icon. This will bring up your ongoing quest. Enter your final confidence on the task and press complete.
The initial rating is how confident you feel about the upcoming quest. It goes from 1 to 10, 1 being “this makes me really anxious!” and 10 being “psshh, easy peasy!”
The final rating is how confident you feel about the quest now that you’ve completed it. A lot of the time, we think something will be more difficult than it actually ends up being. Seeing this contrast and having a record of your past quests will prove to you that you can cope well in seemingly difficult situations, and ease your mind for future quests.
Yep! Your Quest Map has all your past quests. Tap on any of the numbered icons to view a quest. You’ll be able to see the quest information, date complete, initial and final rating, and stars.
Stars are based on your final confidence on a quest.
You earn trophies for reaching certain milestones. For example, completing 10 quests or earning 100 coins. You can view your trophies by going to your profile and tapping on the trophy icons.
Coins are earned by completing quests and winning trophies.
Your streak is the amount of days in a row that you’ve completed at least one quest. It resets every day at midnight (UTC).
There are three leaderboards that show the top ten users that have: the most quests complete, the most coins earned, and the highest streak. You can toggle between them by tapping the icons. You can also see your stats above the leaderboards.
The Quest Map shows all your past quests and any ongoing quest. It’s useful to scroll through and see your progress and confidence ratings over time!
You can change your map background by going to Settings and tapping on the Map Background tile.
The Confidence Chart shows your confidence over time based on your initial confidence on completed quests.
You can change your avatar by going to Settings and tapping edit, or by tapping your avatar on your profile.
You can change your username or email by going to Settings and tapping on Name or Email under Details.
You can change your password by going to Settings, scrolling to the bottom and tapping Reset password.
You can view your account information including your join date, subscription type and subscription expiry by going to Settings and tapping Account & Membership Info.
You can delete your account by going to Settings, tapping Account & Membership Info, then tapping Delete account. All your information will be deleted – this is irreversible.
You can create as many accounts as you’d like, but we recommend just one per device.
When daily reminders are turned on, you receive a notification every day at 7pm to complete a quest and keep your streak going.
You can turn them off by going to Settings and tapping Daily reminders. To turn them on, tap again and make sure notifications are enabled in your device settings (Settings > Merrier > Notifications).
Ads are shown every few quests, and are provided by Google. If you are a Premium Member, you can turn them off by going to Settings and tapping Show ads.
Yes, though some features of the app may be impacted. To access full functionality, make sure you’re connected to the internet.
With Merrier Premium, you:
You can upgrade by going to Settings and tapping Upgrade Account.
Monthly, Quarterly, and Yearly.
Once subscribed, you can change your subscription type by going to Settings > Account & Membership Info > Change subscription type.
You can currently only subscribe through the iOS app via iTunes.
You can unsubscribe by going to your iTunes Account settings and turning off auto-renew.
You can only upgrade one account per iTunes account. To upgrade a second account on the same device, you need to log in using a different iTunes account.
Only your username and quest/coin/streak count is visible to other users (via the leaderboards). All other data is kept completely private and cannot be accessed by other users.
If you decide to delete your account, all your data is irreversibly erased from our servers.
You will only be sent emails from Merrier if you’ve opted in through our website or created an account. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking unsubscribe on an email.
You can export your data by going to Settings > Account & Membership Info > Export data. It will be sent to you via email in a text file.
